Which nation claims Aphrodite Island?
Which nation claims the new Red Sea island of Aphrodite Island, which was born after a volcanic eruption that started on 19 December 2011, and is located at latitude 15° 9' 23" North, and longitude 42° 6' 4" East, and in the Zubair Archipelago (Red Sea)?
Well, one can find the claim on the Internet, and the claimant was actually the first to claim the island, but until recently only the sovereign nation of Southern Cameroons recognised the claim.
Award-winning geographer, writer, TV presenter, environmental scientist, and Oxford University lecturer Nick Middleton also mentions that the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA) claims the island in a splendid book; shows a wonderful map of the island; and even shows a nice map of the world with all of the UMMOA's 29 insular possessions, and one Antarctic continental territory:
The four pages in the book also go into a fair amount of detail about the UMMOA, including the history of the islands that were claimed initially, which were legally occupied in May 2008, annexed from the United States Minor Outlying Islands, and renamed the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago, or UMMOA for short.
Yes, the book section even mentions Cyberterra, and the population of the UMMOA of 67, and all the countries with which it has territorial disputes!
Of course, this is nice, especially since the UMMOA even enjoys recognition and respect for its opinion with the UK's Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) — this ensuring, once and for all, that the UMMOA has reached the highest level in the Third World, because it has created an agency that is actually working like an unprivileged, or nascent state IGO — but what may anger even more micronations is this fact that the UMMOA's claims, including the unique Aphrodite Island claim, are also available in a fine book translated by Rizzoli in Italian, and on 11 March 2016 these claims also became available in a fine book translated by Bastei Lübbe (Quadriga) in German:
Yes, not only I purchased and have seen the English language edition of the book, but I have ordered also the Italian edition recently, and last night I also ordered the German edition, the first German language book I ever purchased that wasn't a version of the Holy Bible!
